Claire McCann specialises in employment, equality and public law as well as regulatory and human rights law, in both an advisory capacity and as a trial and appellate advocate. She also represents parties in internal disciplinary proceedings and conducts investigations. She acts for companies, charities, public authorities and central and local government, trade unions and individuals. She is appointed to the Attorney-General's B Panel of Counsel. Claire has a strong advisory practice and is sought-after in complex and high profile litigation, particularly in cases raising issues of reputational risk. Claire writes and lectures widely in her areas of expertise: she is a co-author of the 3rd edition of OUP’s “Employment Law and Human Rights” and has recently contributed to the Cloisters’ Covid-19 Back to Work Toolkit .
Claire was the Head of the Employment & Equality Practice Group at Cloisters for five years and sits on the Board of Trustees of Hackney Shed, an inclusive theatre company for children and young people.
