Caspar advises on contentious disputes and is a trial and appellate lawyer. His practice covers the whole width of the employment relationship, contractual (including injunctive relief) and regulatory sports’ disputes and other linked contractual and commercial claims including civil fraud and fiduciary duties. His work generally affects hundreds/thousands of employees, sets national precedents, are test cases, are of very high value, seriously affect the reputations of other employees or owners or the business itself or are a combination of these. He has been active in and is an expert on Covid19 Employment issues having Coordinated “The Four Silks” paper on the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and editing the first editions of the Cloisters Covid-19 Back to Work Toolkit as well as acting for and advising employees, employers and Government in matters arising out of the pandemic. He regularly appears in the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and in the Employment Appeal Tribunal. He conducts cases in the High Court, the Employment Tribunal and other specialist Sports’ Tribunals. Caspar prosecutes and defends in disciplinary hearings, conducts investigations of all types and is experienced in sports’ arbitrations as an advocate, chairman and arbitrator. He is a Deputy High Court Judge and a Recorder of the Crown Court, is a trained mediator, sits as a chairman of Football Association Arbitration Panels and is a past Chair of the Industrial Law Society.
