Chris is an employment law specialist, having practised in this field for the past 9 years. He has considerable litigation experience and regularly provides training on employment law issues to legal practitioners, including members of the Judiciary.
Chris has considerable experience in conducting litigation on behalf of Local Authorities, especially in relation to claims involving schools and Governing bodies. Consequently, he is familiar with the law and regulations in this field. He is also regularly instructed by local Police forces to act as a legal advisor to their Police Disciplinary Panels. These are formal hearings conducted internally by the Police force to consider allegations of misconduct and/or incompetence raised against serving Police officers. His role as legal advisor is:
1. To ensure that the hearing is conducted fairly and in accordance with existing procedures;
2. To ensure that the relevant issues in the case are identified and properly examined;
3. To provide legal advice on any issues of law that may arise during the course of the hearing.
Before specialising in employment law Chris practised at the Criminal Bar for many years. He has considerable experience in this field, having conducted many high level criminal trials, across the entire spectrum of criminal law issues. That includes, but not limited to, cases involving allegations of unlawful sexual conduct; indecent images and allegations of violent behaviour.
